Shakib trains at SBNCS on birthday

Star Sports Report

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is celebrating turning 34 today and the all-rounder was in the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to begin preparations for the upcoming IPL. The Tigers are currently in New Zealand to play the ODI and T20I series but a few of them did not forget to wish Shakib on his birthday.

The all-rounder arrived at the stadium at 9 am to prepare and following warm-up, headed to indoor facilities. The all-rounder had caused a furore when he slammed BCB on several management issues and criticized Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan during a live interview this week. Even as he is in the midst of a confrontation with BCB, it looks likely that no action will be taken and his NOC to play in the IPL will not be reconsidered.

Teammates such pacer Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman congratulated Shakib on his birthday on Facebook, hailing him as an inspiration and Bangladesh's greatest cricketer.

Rubel posted a picture of him alongside the all-rounder and wrote: "Happy birthday Bangladesh's all-time greatest cricketer, legend Shakib Al Hasan."

Mustafizur wrote: "Shakib Al Hasan - the name of inspiration, An elder brother. You are very special to us. Learning lots of things from you. You are one of my inspirations. On this special day, I am wishing you a very happy birthday. May Almighty bless you always!"
