FIFA is facing strong opposition over a proposal to sell a stake in the commercial rights of the World Cup and other major tournaments to private investors.
UEFA says the plan would give private companies too much influence over football and has voted to boycott all FIFA competitions, including the World Cup, unless FIFA withdraws the proposal and guarantees that ownership of the sport will remain within football's governing bodies.
