'GTA 6 Extended Look' to premiere on Netflix before YouTube debut
Rockstar Games has announced an extended preview of "Grand Theft Auto VI", with the presentation set to premiere on Netflix before becoming available on YouTube and the game's official website later the same day.
Titled "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", the showcase will debut on August 27 at 12 pm PT (3:00pm ET) on Netflix. Around six hours later, the presentation will be released on Rockstar Games' YouTube channel and the official "GTA 6" website.
Rockstar has not revealed how long the presentation will run or what it will feature. However, the title has fuelled speculation among fans that it could include the first gameplay footage from the highly anticipated title, as the studio has so far released only cinematic trailers.
Netflix is billing the presentation as an opportunity for viewers to "see an extended look at 'Grand Theft Auto VI', the next evolution in the groundbreaking 'Grand Theft Auto' series."
Commenting on the collaboration, Netflix Vice President of Nonfiction Series Brandon Riegg described announcements related to the franchise as "cultural moments in their own right."
"The anticipation and fandom around 'Grand Theft Auto VI' is unprecedented, and we're honoured that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the 'Grand Theft Auto' story with Netflix members first," he said.
Riegg added that the partnership reflects Netflix's broader ambition to become a platform for ambitious storytelling across different forms of entertainment.
The announcement comes as excitement continues to build around "Grand Theft Auto VI", one of the most anticipated video game releases in recent years.
