Tanzika Amin balances diverse roles across screens
Tanzika Amin is steadily broadening her footprint across film, television and hosting, marking a busy phase in her career.
The actor recently revealed she had turned down a role in “Bonolota Express”, directed by Tanim Noor, a decision she later described with some regret. However, she continues to remain active with multiple upcoming projects.
Her next film, “Robi in Dhaka”, directed by Rajib Salehin, is slated for release this Eid. The film explores themes of mental pressure, personal struggles and resilience, portraying how individuals seek hope amid life’s challenges. She stars opposite Imtiaz Barshan.
Tanzika is also currently filming “Jhamela”, directed by Yamin Ilan, where she will be seen alongside Shamol Mawla.
Another project, “Rongbazar”, directed by Rashid Palash, will not be released this Eid as previously speculated. The filmmaker said the film is being prepared for a larger release after Eid. In the film, Tanzika portrays a sex worker.
On television, the actor will appear in the Eid drama “Obujh Chokh”, directed by Sagar Jahan.
In addition to acting, she is returning to hosting with a new cooking show titled “Bangladesher Oitijjobahi Ranna”, which will air on Maasranga Television from today. The programme will showcase 118 traditional Bangladeshi recipes, with episodes airing every Friday at 7:30pm.
Speaking about her return to hosting, Tanzika said she enjoys hosting when the concept appeals to her. She added that the show’s focus on traditional cuisine motivated her to take on the role.
The actress said she is currently enjoying the diversity in her on-screen work, balancing roles across different formats and genres.
