216 infected with Covid

Bangladesh reported 216 more coronavirus cases in 24 hours till yesterday morning.

The total fatalities remained unchanged at 29,411 as no death was reported during the period.

With the new infections, the caseload rose to 2,033,878, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The daily positivity rate rose to 5.87 percent from Thursday's 5.82 percent as 3,680 samples were tested during the period.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.45 percent and the recovery rate rose to 97.20 percent.

In September, the country reported 40 Covid-linked deaths and 13,251 cases.
