Exhibition Extended: Anatomy of Transit

Kuntal Barai’s acclaimed solo exhibition at Plat-forms Gallery has been extended through September 12, 2026, due to overwhelming public response.

Originally scheduled to conclude on September 5, Anatomy of Transit will now remain open to the public through Saturday, September 12. The exhibition, a breakthrough solo presentation by contemporary artist Kuntal Barai, is curated by Sultan Mohammad Mineuddin and features 14 artworks, primarily acrylic and mixed media on canvas.

Plat-forms Gallery is extending the exhibition by an additional week following strong visitor turnout, offering art lovers and urban enthusiasts an extended opportunity to experience Barai’s evocative collection. The exhibition is open every day from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Plat-forms Gallery, Level 5, Meher Nibas, House 12/B, Road 55, Gulshan 2, Dhaka 1212.

Through painting, drawing, and mixed media, Anatomy of Transit examines Dhaka as a living organism. Roads become arteries, intersections resemble vital organs, and vehicles become symbols of an urban body that is constantly moving yet frequently under pressure. Barai brings together fragments of traffic, architecture, roads, vehicles, and human figures across the 14 pieces to reflect the density, friction, and emotional landscape of contemporary urban life.

Rather than simply documenting the city's chaotic traffic, Barai explores the psychological experience of living within a rapidly changing metropolis. Movement becomes a potent metaphor for aspiration, uncertainty, displacement, routine, and the constant negotiation between individual lives and collective urban existence.
