Transparency and humanity: MASTUL Foundation, a trusted name in compassionate service
[Paid Promotion]
For more than a decade, MASTUL Foundation, one of Bangladesh’s most reputable charitable organizations, has been working to support people in need. Setting a remarkable example of transparency and accountability, the organization publishes audited reports every year.
Founded in 2012 by visionary Kazi Reaz Rahman along with a group of young individuals, what began as a compassionate initiative has now grown into a trusted institution serving hundreds of thousands of people.
Today, MASTUL Foundation has become a symbol of reliability among underprivileged communities across the country through its diverse humanitarian programs in food, education, healthcare, and employment.
The organization is officially registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Joint Stock Companies authority, and the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh. It also holds a special SRO certification from the National Board of Revenue (NBR), which allows donations and zakat contributions to qualify for tax rebates. Furthermore, with approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, MASTUL Foundation conducts sensitive humanitarian services such as the burial of unclaimed bodies.
All activities of the foundation are carried out solely for the pleasure of Almighty Allah and are supervised by a dedicated Shariah Board. Each year, the organization hosts zakat conferences and donor gatherings attended by distinguished personalities. It also implements customized humanitarian programs based on donors’ preferences.
MASTUL Foundation’s work has extended beyond national borders. Its volunteers have responded to global humanitarian crises, delivering aid wherever needed. During ongoing emergencies in Gaza, Palestine, and Sudan, the foundation directly provided emergency food, meals, and life-saving medicines. Through its diverse projects, it continues to deliver essential support to communities in need.
The foundation has reached its current position through the love and support of the people of Bangladesh. By properly distributing zakat and sadaqah funds, it empowers disadvantaged families through small business initiatives, helping them become self-reliant. Mastul Foundation believes that sustainable solutions are more effective than temporary relief. Its goal is to transform zakat recipients into future zakat contributors with dignity.

To further structure this empowerment process, the foundation operates Islamic finance activities under approval from the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA). Through Shariah-compliant investments, it aims to ensure economic independence for marginalized communities. In particular, it provides Qard Hasan (interest-free loans) to unemployed youth, enabling them to generate employment and grow as entrepreneurs.
These multifaceted initiatives not only preserve the sanctity of zakat but also demonstrate the effective application of Islamic finance principles in uplifting the poor. By reducing dependency, MASTUL Foundation helps individuals live with dignity and self-respect.
The organization also runs a daily meal distribution program through its own guesthouse facilities. Free meals are provided to underprivileged and hungry individuals in various locations across Dhaka, including Kawran Bazar.

In the Barikhali area of Hazaribagh, Dhaka, MASTUL Foundation operates its own school, madrasa, orphanage, and elderly care center. Currently, construction is underway for a 10-story Mastul Islamic Shelter Home Complex. This facility will include a modern mosque, madrasa, school, orphanage, elderly care home, medical corner, and training center—all under one roof.
Special emphasis is being placed on providing safe and modern accommodation for abandoned and elderly individuals. The shelter home will also serve as a secure and nurturing environment for orphaned and underprivileged children, ensuring not only education but also emotional care. The foundation guarantees quality education, nutritious food, and healthcare, along with moral and religious guidance to help children grow into responsible citizens.

Founder and Executive Director Kazi Reaz Rahman states, "All our work is dedicated to the pleasure of Almighty Allah. The proper management of zakat and sadaqah, as part of Islamic socio-economic principles, is essential for equitable distribution of wealth and improving the living standards of the poor. From the beginning, we have maintained transparency by publishing our audit reports publicly, allowing donors to directly observe the progress of our work."
It is worth mentioning that all activities of Mastul Foundation are conducted under the supervision of a Shariah Board.
