“Bangladesh’s skilled workforce and growing custom-fabrication expertise create opportunities to unite local capability with international design standards.”
Some furniture fills a room; some gives it character. Since beginning its journey in 2001, Koncept Furniture, a concern of Nasir Syntax Group (NSG), has evolved alongside Bangladesh’s furniture industry. As urban lifestyles changed and buyers moved beyond heavy, ornate pieces towards contemporary aesthetics, functionality and space-conscious design, Koncept developed its own approach to furniture and interiors.
Its philosophy, “Live Your Signature”, reflects the belief that a space should express the taste, character and lifestyle of the people who use it. Over time, this idea has taken the brand beyond conventional furniture retail into premium home and office furniture, home décor, customised products, and complete residential and corporate interior solutions.
Global design, tailored locally
One of Koncept’s key strengths is its international sourcing network. The company brings furniture and collections to Bangladesh from Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand and other markets, giving customers access to a range of materials, craftsmanship and design traditions.
However, its role is not limited to importing finished pieces. When customers require a particular dimension, material, fabric, colour or configuration, Koncept works with international brand partners to customise products before they reach Bangladesh. Local customisation support is also provided where appropriate.
For Koncept, modern luxury is also personal: a piece becomes more meaningful when it belongs naturally to both the space and the person choosing it.
This flexibility extends across products such as storage beds, extendable dining tables, armchairs, executive and president chairs, divans, closets, dressing tables and sofa-beds. Personalised dimensions, modular configurations, ergonomic considerations, and choices of fabric and colour allow furniture to be adapted to the way customers live and work. The company says these products follow defined specifications, material standards and several stages of quality inspection.
Beyond individual pieces
Koncept’s interior services bring furniture, customised elements and spatial planning together for homes and workplaces. Architects use digital modelling and 3D design tools to help clients visualise forms and configurations before execution. Technology-supported production and coordinated project management are then used to deliver complex interior projects with greater precision and efficiency.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its showroom presence, introduce new product categories, strengthen local manufacturing, explore sustainable product lines, undertake larger interior projects and improve its digital retail experience.
“Bangladesh’s skilled workforce and growing custom-fabrication expertise create opportunities to unite local capability with international design standards and, eventually, develop collections with potential for global markets,” says Nasim Biswas, Managing Director of Nasir Syntax Group.
Koncept’s story, therefore, is not built around a single chair, sofa or interior. It lies in connecting global design with local understanding—and turning furniture from a functional object into an expression of character.
