Some names in the history of Bengali cinema transcend time, and Salman Shah remains one of the most enduring icons among them. Nearly three decades after his untimely death, the legendary actor continues to live on in the emotions, love, and memories of audiences across generations.

For many viewers, Salman Shah’s films represent a feeling that remains unmatched. Even today, movies starring the actor are regularly screened in cinemas around the country, underscoring the lasting appeal of his work and his continued popularity.

Celebrating this legacy, Old Dhaka-based multiplex Lion Cinemas has organised a special week-long film screening dedicated to the late actor. Titled “Fire Dekhi Salman Shah”, the initiative is showcasing three of his most popular films on the big screen—”Shopner Prithibi”, “Ontore Ontore”, and "Sotter Mrittu Nei”. The films were directed by Badol Khondoker, Shibli Sadik, and Chhatku Ahmed respectively.

In a video message, Lion Cinemas authorities said that Salman Shah was not just a successful actor but someone who shaped the taste and mindset of an entire generation. They added that his acting style and personality continue to emotionally resonate with cinema lovers even today.

According to the organisers, each film is being screened twice daily. The special programme will continue until January 29. Audience enthusiasm has been clearly visible, as fans flock to theatres to watch their beloved star once again on the big screen.
