Today marks the 25th of Baishakh, the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. To celebrate Rabindra Jayanti, television channels across Bangladesh have arranged special programmes featuring dramas, music, recitations, and documentaries inspired by the poet’s works and legacy.

Bangladeshi filmmaker Rezwan Shahriar Sumit’s latest film “Master” is set to have its Australian premiere at the 73rd edition of the Sydney Film Festival.

The Bangladesh Film Certification Board has suspended the certification of Shakib Khan starrer “Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka” over allegations of adding unauthorised scenes and songs after receiving approval.

Afzal Hossain revealed that the project was initiated by him as a tribute. “I proposed making this telefilm to honour Ferdousi Majumdar. I felt she deserved such recognition. After completing the project, it feels like our wish has been fulfilled.”

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are reportedly in talks to reunite on screen for filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s upcoming untitled superhero film.

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is reportedly in advanced talks to join the sequel to “3 Idiots”, reuniting with the original cast led by Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.

Encouraged by this success, the sequel is now being produced with a script by Siddiqur Rahman.

Titled “The Last Tenant”, the project premiered on YouTube on April 29, coinciding with Khan’s death anniversary. The film, written and directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, offers an early look at both actors before they rose to prominence.

The film, based on “The Odyssey”, stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, tracing his long journey home after the Trojan War. Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, while Tom Holland appears as their son Telemachus.
